What holsters will a Glock 21 fit in?

The Glock 21 features a large frame design and external dimensions shared only by a small number of other pistols in Glock’s catalog. Generation 4 and older Glock 21 pistols will fit G21 holsters designed for Gen 2-4 pistols. Generation 5 G21s are slightly thicker and require Gen 5-specific G21 holsters.

What Glocks are the same size as the G21?

Assuming they are of the same Generation, the 10mm Glock 20 shares the same external dimensions as the .45 Glock 21. This means that a G21 will generally fit in a G20 holster provided they have the same external dimensions. For example, a Gen 5 Glock 21 fits perfectly in a Gen 5 G20 holster, but not in a Gen 2-4 G20 holster.

Can a Glock 17 fit in a Glock 21 holster?

Even within the same generation and although both pistols are full-sized, the Glock 17 is built using a slightly smaller frame and slide. This smaller frame, which it shares with the .40 G22 and .357 G31, is overall thinner than the G20 and G21. When inserted in a G21 holster, your G17 may fit only loosely, preventing the holster from providing secure retention.
